Nvidia and the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology announced the launch of a joint AI research laboratory at KAIST's Kim Jaechul Graduate School of AI in Seoul on July 23, dedicated to advancing agentic AI research for South Korea. The collaboration combines Nvidia's full-stack AI expertise, its Nemotron open-model family and NVIDIA AI Cloud partner computing resources with KAIST's academic research talent.
The partnership extends a pattern Nvidia has built across multiple regions -- similar university and sovereign-AI collaborations exist across Europe and the Middle East -- as the company works to embed its compute and software stack into national AI ecosystems beyond its core hyperscaler customer relationships with the likes of Microsoft, Google and Amazon.
