$140.6 million is Nscale's revenue for the six months ended June 30, 2026 โ up 1,252% from $10.4 million a year earlier. The same filing discloses a $1.02 billion net loss over that period, and a single customer making up 52% of that revenue.
Nscale is an AI cloud and GPU infrastructure company racing toward a Nasdaq-rival NYSE listing on the strength of a $103.4 billion contracted backlog. Its September 18, 2026 S-1 filing is the first time the company's actual revenue, losses, and customer concentration have been disclosed in detail, and The Star's coverage of the filing called the revenue jump a surge โ but the numbers tell a sharper story than the headline backlog figure alone.

How Does Nscale Make Money?
Nscale sells dedicated GPU compute capacity and data center infrastructure to AI labs and hyperscalers under long-term, take-or-pay contracts โ customers commit to paying for capacity whether or not they end up using all of it, which is what lets Nscale report a $103.4 billion total contract value even though only a fraction of that capacity is built and earning revenue today. According to Nscale's S-1 filing, the company had about 25,000 active GPUs deployed and 461,000 active-and-contracted GPUs as of August 31, 2026 โ meaning roughly 5% of the GPU commitment is actually live.
Is Nscale Profitable in 2026?
No. Nscale's $140.6 million in H1 2026 revenue came with a $1.02 billion net loss over the same six months โ a net margin of roughly -726%, according to the S-1. Revenue grew more than 13x year over year, but so did the scale of the build-out needed to deliver on signed contracts: data center construction, GPU procurement, and power capacity all have to be funded well ahead of the revenue those commitments eventually generate. The filing states plainly that Nscale has not yet secured binding financing commitments for the equipment and infrastructure its $103.4 billion of contracts call for.
| Metric | FY2024 | FY2025 | H1 2025 | H1 2026 |

How we counted: figures as disclosed in Nscale's S-1 filing with the SEC; "n/d" = not disclosed for that period; as of September 18, 2026 (TCV figures as of August 31, 2026).
How Concentrated Is Nscale's Customer Base?
Nscale's single largest customer made up 52% of its H1 2026 revenue โ down from 73% of all 2025 revenue and "substantially all" of 2024 revenue, per the S-1. The filing doesn't name that customer, but Nscale discloses two other enormous contracts elsewhere in the same document: Microsoft agreements signed between September 2025 and April 2026 that provide for payments of up to approximately $43.8 billion through December 2033, and Anthropic agreements covering dedicated Nvidia GPU infrastructure at the Monarch Compute Campus worth up to approximately $44.6 billion.
What the Headline Misses
A 1,252% revenue growth rate and a $103.4 billion contract backlog, per the S-1, are the numbers built for a headline, but the filing's own risk disclosures are the more useful read: Nscale has not secured binding financing for the GPU and data center capacity its biggest contracts require, meaning the backlog converting into delivered revenue depends on raising capital Nscale doesn't yet have committed. Pair that with a customer base still roughly half-concentrated in a single account, and the investment case rests less on whether AI infrastructure demand is real โ the Microsoft and Anthropic contracts suggest it clearly is โ and more on whether Nscale can finance and build fast enough, and diversify its customer base quickly enough, to convert $103.4 billion of paper commitments into revenue without a funding gap or a customer walking away from a take-or-pay contract derailing the plan.
