Quick Answer

$41 billion makes Jeff Bezos' Project Prometheus the most valuable private physical AI company, after a $12B raise announced June 11, 2026. Figure AI ($39B, September 2025) and Skild AI (over $14B, January 2026) follow. Of the 14 companies ranked here, nine are valued at $3B or more on their last closed round, as of October 20, 2026.

Project Prometheus is the most valuable private physical AI company at $41 billion after a $12 billion raise announced June 11, 2026, ahead of Figure AI at $39 billion and Skild AI at more than $14 billion, and nine of the 14 companies ranked here are valued at $3 billion or more as of October 20, 2026.

"Physical AI" covers AI that acts in the real world: humanoid robots, foundation models that drive many kinds of robots, autonomy for industrial machines, and software that designs physical products. This ranking uses each private company's last closed round, not rumored prices, and lists the bigger deals still in talks separately. Every valuation links to the announcement or report it comes from.

How we counted: private companies whose core product is AI that acts in the physical world (robots, robot foundation models, machine autonomy, physical-systems engineering), valued at $1 billion or more; ranked by valuation from the last closed equity round; rumored rounds, term sheets, secondaries, SPAC deal values and public companies excluded from the ranking; autonomous-driving operators listed separately; 14 companies; as of October 20, 2026. Neura's round is "up to" $1.4B and milestone-based. Apptronik's valuation was not disclosed by the company; TechCrunch reported about $5.3B.

What Is the Most Valuable Physical AI Company?

"Prometheus, the physical AI startup co-founded by Jeff Bezos and Vik Bajaj, announced it raised $12 billion at a $41 billion valuation," TechCrunch reported on June 11, 2026, with money from Bezos, JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs and BlackRock. It was the company's second raise after an initial $6.2 billion. Prometheus builds what it calls an "artificial general engineer" for designing and manufacturing jet engines, drug compounds and other physical systems; it does not build robots. We cover the deal in our Prometheus breakdown.

Among robot makers, Figure AI leads. Figure said it had "exceeded more than $1 billion in committed capital through our Series C financing round, at a post-money valuation of $39 billion" on September 16, 2025, led by Parkway Venture Capital with Brookfield, Nvidia and Intel Capital. That is still Figure's last priced round as of October 20, 2026. Skild AI is third: it announced on January 14, 2026 that it had raised $1.4 billion led by SoftBank, an investment that "catapults our valuation to over $14 billion." See our Figure and Skild valuation posts for full funding histories.

Which Physical AI Companies Are Raising at Higher Valuations?

CompanyTalks / term sheetLast closedStatus
Physical Intelligence~$1B at more than $11B$5.6B (Nov 2025)In talks, per TechCrunch citing Bloomberg, Mar 27, 2026
FieldAI$700M at $10B$2B (Aug 2025)Term sheet signed, not closed, per OCBJ citing Business Insider, Oct 5, 2026

If FieldAI's $10 billion round closes, it would jump from tenth to fourth on this list, a fivefold markup on its August 2025 price. Physical Intelligence closing above $11 billion would move it from sixth to fourth or fifth. Neither had closed as of October 20, 2026.

What About Waymo, Unitree and Agility?

Three big names sit outside the ranking. Waymo said on February 2, 2026: "We have raised a $16 billion investment round valuing the company at $126 billion post-money," led by Dragoneer, DST Global and Sequoia Capital; as an Alphabet-controlled robotaxi operator, it is a category of its own (full company profile). Unitree Robotics listed on Shanghai's STAR Market on August 19, 2026, and its market capitalization was 200.58 billion yuan (about $28.1 billion) at the October 19 close, per the Global Times. Agility Robotics is merging with Churchill Capital Corp XI in a SPAC deal that values it at around $2.5 billion, TechCrunch reported on July 5, 2026, with the shareholder vote set for November 2, 2026.

Who Is Investing in Physical AI?

Nvidia shows up repeatedly: as a backer in Figure's Series C, through NVentures in Skild AI and FieldAI, and in Neura's Series C. SoftBank led Skild's $1.4 billion round and was reported in talks for 1X. Jeff Bezos is behind Prometheus directly and, through Bezos Expeditions, in Skild AI and FieldAI. Industrial strategics are the other pattern: Mercedes-Benz in Apptronik, Bosch and Schaeffler in both Neura and Humanoid, and Tencent and Alibaba in XPeng's Dogotix, which raised more than $900 million at a post-money valuation above $6.3 billion, TechTimes reported on August 26, 2026. Mind Robotics, the Rivian spinout, "closed a $400 million round led by Kleiner Perkins, bringing its total funding to more than $1 billion and its valuation to $3.4 billion," per The Next Web on May 16, 2026.

Where I Could Be Wrong

Last-closed-round rankings lag reality in a market moving this fast. Figure's $39 billion is more than a year old, and secondary-market prices for several of these companies may sit well above or below their last rounds. Revenue is not disclosed for any company on the list, so these are bets on future deployments rather than multiples of sales. Some valuations come from reporting rather than company statements (Apptronik, Generalist, Neura), and a few large private players, including The Bot Company and Dexterity, are left out because we could not verify a 2026 valuation.
