Pulse first covered Starcloud's $250 million round to build orbital data centers. What's new: Dunamu & Partners said on October 26 that it took part in the round as the only Korean investor, Seoul Economic Daily reported.
The disclosure also updates Starcloud's running totals: cumulative funding now stands at $450 million, and its post-money valuation was assessed at $2.3 billion.
“The disclosure also updates Starcloud's running totals: cumulative funding now stands at $450 million, and its post-money valuation was assessed at $2.3 billion.”
The round was led by Manhattan West Ventures, with Nvidia, Cisco Investments, Benchmark and EQT also participating, according to the report. Starcloud is building data centers designed to operate in orbit, a nascent category that has drawn comparisons to terrestrial AI infrastructure bets but carries its own launch, power and thermal-management constraints that ground-based data centers don't face.
Starcloud's $2.3 billion valuation and $450 million cumulative total are as reported by Seoul Economic Daily rather than independently re-verified today, a distinction that matters given how often these secondary disclosures lag the original close.
Dunamu, the fintech-and-crypto-adjacent investment arm best known for backing Korea's Upbit exchange ecosystem, is a notably different kind of backer than the chip and growth-equity names that dominate the rest of Starcloud's cap table.
