Fasset, an AI-powered stablecoin neobanking platform, raised $68 million in a Series C led by Japan's SBI Group, the company announced, pushing its valuation to $1 billion and making it the latest stablecoin-infrastructure unicorn. It's the company's second raise this year, following a Series B round in May.
Fasset combines regulated local banking infrastructure with stablecoin settlement and tokenized-asset access through a single account, aimed at markets where dollar-denominated stablecoins are increasingly used as a savings and payments rail. The company says it now processes more than $40 billion in annualized transaction volume across 3 million wallets in 125 countries and works with more than 1,000 enterprise clients -- a 6x jump the company attributes to demand in emerging markets where local currency volatility makes stablecoin accounts attractive. Competitors span crypto-native neobanks like Bridge (acquired by Stripe in 2025) and Meow, and traditional stablecoin infrastructure players like Circle and Ripple, none of which combine full retail banking licensing with settlement the way Fasset claims to.
The capital will go toward agentic AI systems for corridor banking, stablecoin settlement and tokenized-asset infrastructure -- the Series B in May was $51 million, bringing Fasset's 2026 fundraising to $119 million total. Fasset is betting that as AI agents begin transacting on behalf of businesses, the payment rails need to be built for machine speed and identity verification, not human checkout flows. That thesis lines up with what Katie Haun's Haun Ventures and other crypto-focused funds have been telling LPs about the "agentic economy" all year, though Fasset is one of the first to point an actual product roadmap at it rather than a fund thesis.
The risk sitting underneath the unicorn headline is regulatory: stablecoin neobanks operate across a patchwork of licensing regimes, and a single adverse ruling in one of Fasset's 125 markets could disrupt volume overnight in a way that doesn't show up in a growth chart until it happens.
