Analysis
Entourage Ventures has closed its second fund at €100 million, beating an original €75 million target within two weeks, the European early-stage firm said, and plans to use it to back roughly 25 pre-seed and seed-stage companies across Europe and other markets.
What Entourage Ventures invests in
Entourage Ventures targets AI, enterprise software, robotics, physical AI and deep tech companies at the earliest stages, writing initial checks of roughly €1 million to €5 million with reserves for follow-on rounds. The firm was founded by Pieterjan Bouten, Showpad's former co-founder and CEO, and its partners include Evert Beeckman and Maarten Mortier; the firm says it leads or co-leads most of its rounds but rarely takes board seats, according to Tech.eu. Entourage says it will use the new fund to back roughly 25 companies, per Pulse 2.0. Three new investors -- Erwan Gardelle, Sixtine Riescher Tuczkiewicz and Illja Schiller -- joined the firm alongside the close, according to Tech.eu.
Entourage Ventures funding history: how big is Fund II versus Fund I?
Fund II closed at €100 million, more than two years after Entourage launched its first fund in 2024, Tech.eu reported October 29 -- the new fund passed its original €75 million target within two weeks and was then capped at €100 million. Entourage has not disclosed Fund I's exact size, but Fund I was focused mainly on software, while Fund II widens the firm's mandate into AI, robotics, physical AI and deep tech.
“Its venture-building arm, Entourage Studio, also helped develop Tekst, which recently raised a €10 million Series A.”
Who invested in Entourage Ventures's Fund II
Entourage has not disclosed its limited partners for Fund II. The firm's public materials point instead to its own portfolio as the case for the new capital: early backer status in Aikido Security, which Entourage describes as now a unicorn; Conveo, which recently raised a $50 million Series A; and Lexroom, which Entourage says reached €30 million in annual recurring revenue within 24 months. Its venture-building arm, Entourage Studio, also helped develop Tekst, which recently raised a €10 million Series A.
European seed funding market and competitors
Entourage's close comes as European early-stage investors compete for deal flow with better-capitalized US funds increasingly writing checks directly into European AI and deep-tech startups, part of a broader run of fund closes and growth rounds our funding tracker has logged across the venture market this year. Passing a €75 million target in two weeks suggests LP demand held up for a firm with a visible track record -- Aikido Security's unicorn status and Conveo's $50 million Series A give Entourage concrete proof points that newer European seed funds often lack.
What's unproven about Entourage's pitch
Entourage has not disclosed Fund I's exact size or Fund II's LP base, so outside investors are taking the firm's self-reported wins -- Aikido Security, Conveo, Lexroom and Tekst -- largely at face value. The bigger risk is execution: deploying across roughly 25 companies from a single fund while also newly opening offices in both London and Paris is an ambitious expansion for a team that just added three junior hires alongside the close.
