What OLIX does
It is building specialized inference chips linked by a photonic interconnect, so that each stage of inference runs on a chip designed for that step.[1] Its first chip, the DX-1, is optimized for decode workloads and holds a model in on-chip SRAM rather than HBM; OLIX plans to ship it in a data center appliance called the X-1.[2] Alongside the round, OLIX hired former Wise CFO Matt Briers as chief financial officer.[1]
