A small chemicals company with a wildfire angle
CitroTech makes environmentally friendly fire-inhibitor formulations for fire-retardant lumber treatment, sold into the wildland fire, residential and commercial property protection, and wood products industries. Its CitroSafe Systems product -- self-contained sprinkler installations that deploy the company's fire inhibitor ahead of an approaching wildfire -- is paired with an insurance program still in proof-of-concept. In April 2026, the company formed HexiTech LLC, a 50/50 joint venture with chemicals giant Hexion Inc., to commercialize factory-applied lumber and wood-product treatments at larger scale.
The company has a long corporate history under different names, incorporated in Nevada in 1990 and most recently operating as General Enterprise Ventures before adopting the CitroTech name in January 2026. Its prospectus discloses the following, as of or for the six months ended June 30, 2026:
- Net loss, H1 2026 -- $10.1M, down from about $22.8M a year earlier
- Accumulated deficit -- $123.3M
- Cash on hand -- roughly $2.5M
The filing states existing cash may fund planned operations only through fiscal 2026 -- a going-concern-type warning that is standard for small-cap offerings this size but still worth flagging plainly.
This is the kind of filing that rarely makes headlines but fills out the actual IPO pipeline most weeks: a small, real business with a plausible climate-driven demand story, financed through a modest public raise rather than venture capital, carrying real survival risk if the Hexion partnership or insurance program doesn't scale fast enough.
