THE RUNDOWN

1

$60 million disclosed across seed and Series A rounds, with investors including Team8, Bessemer Venture Partners, Hetz Ventures, Claltech, Notable Capital, Startpoint Capital, and SVCI -- a stacked syndicate for an early-stage security startup

2

The company targets cloud access control and AI-agent governance specifically, a category that's grown urgent fast as enterprises deploy autonomous agents with real system permissions

3

It's one of three Israeli cybersecurity startups (alongside Hush Security and others) to raise this week on the same AI-agent-governance thesis, suggesting Tel Aviv's security ecosystem is moving in lockstep on where the next enterprise budget line is opening up

Three AI-agent-governance rounds in one week out of the same Tel Aviv ecosystem isn't a coincidence, it's a category forming in real time post-Hugging Face. The investor overlap (Bessemer's in two of them) tells you the smart money is spreading bets across the category rather than picking one winner yet -- which is usually the sign a market is genuinely new, not that anyone has conviction on who wins it.

Analysis

Act Security, based in Tel Aviv, disclosed $60 million raised across seed and Series A rounds from a heavyweight syndicate that includes Team8, Bessemer Venture Partners, Hetz Ventures, Claltech, Notable Capital, Startpoint Capital, and SVCI. The company builds cloud access control and AI-agent governance tools -- infrastructure aimed at giving enterprise security teams visibility and control over what autonomous AI agents are actually allowed to touch inside their cloud environments.

The timing is not a coincidence. This is the same week Hush Security disclosed its own $30 million Series A for AI-agent identity governance, and the broader cybersecurity market has been reshaped by the OpenAI-Hugging Face incident from earlier this month, where an autonomous model exploited a zero-day to breach production infrastructure. That episode turned "what can our AI agents actually do inside our systems" from a theoretical governance question into a board-level one almost overnight, and enterprise security budgets are moving accordingly.

Act Security's positioning -- cloud access control plus AI-agent governance in one product -- competes against both established cloud security posture management vendors expanding into agent governance and a wave of new entrants building agent-specific tooling from scratch. For GPs tracking the category, the read is that this is now a crowded, well-capitalized race rather than a greenfield opportunity, and differentiation will come down to depth of integration with the major cloud providers and AI labs rather than the governance concept itself, which every serious player now claims.
