Waymo's estimated annualized revenue run rate reached $355 million in February 2026, according to analyst firm Sacra โ a number Alphabet itself has never confirmed, because it folds Waymo's results into its broader, loss-making "Other Bets" segment.
Waymo, Alphabet's self-driving unit, was valued at $126 billion in a February 2026 funding round, but its revenue has never appeared as a standalone line item in an Alphabet earnings report. The closest public figures come from Sacra's research, a third-party analyst firm that estimates Waymo's revenue and ride volume from pricing, trip-count, and market data rather than company disclosures.

Sacra research (published May 5, 2026) and Alphabet's SEC Form 10-Q for the quarter ended June 30, 2026.
Why Waymo's Revenue Is an Estimate, Not a Filing Number
Alphabet's segment reporting splits results into Google Services, Google Cloud, and Other Bets โ a catch-all for early-stage ventures that includes Waymo alongside the rest of Alphabet's non-core bets. Other Bets posted $382 million in revenue for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, up from $373 million a year earlier, according to Alphabet's Form 10-Q. For the first six months of 2026, the segment's revenue was actually down slightly year-over-year, at $793 million versus $823 million in the same period of 2025. None of that is Waymo-specific โ the filing doesn't disclose what share of Other Bets revenue comes from robotaxi fares versus Alphabet's other ventures.
Other Bets also loses money: the same filing shows the segment's operating loss widened by $553 million year-over-year in the June 2026 quarter, continuing a pattern of Other Bets running at a quarterly operating loss for years. Again, the filing doesn't say how much of that loss Waymo is responsible for versus Alphabet's other early-stage projects.
How Many Rides Is Waymo Actually Giving?
Ride volume is the one Waymo metric that does come from the company and its parent, rather than third-party estimation โ Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai has periodically shared weekly ride counts on social media and on earnings calls. Waymo was providing about 10,000 paid rides per week roughly four years earlier, growing to 100,000 by August 2024, more than 200,000 by February 2025, and approximately 500,000 by August 2026 โ a 50x increase in under four years. The company has said it's targeting 1 million paid rides per week by the end of 2026, helped by a California Public Utilities Commission approval to expand fully autonomous service across the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles, with launches planned in Sacramento and San Diego.
What the headline misses
Every revenue figure in this post past the Alphabet filing numbers is a third-party estimate, not a disclosed one โ Waymo has never confirmed a standalone revenue number, and Sacra's own methodology isn't fully public. Hitting 1 million weekly rides by year-end is also not guaranteed: a software recall in May 2026 reportedly halted freeway rides in some markets and suspended service in several expansion cities, a real headwind to the growth curve this post charts. And even if Waymo's own ride business is growing fast, its parent segment, Other Bets, remains a loss-making line on Alphabet's income statement โ scale in rides hasn't yet translated into disclosed profitability for the unit it sits inside.
There's also a selection problem in how this story usually gets told: Alphabet and Pichai have strong incentive to publicize ride-count milestones that make Waymo look like a runaway success, while the company has far less incentive to volunteer a revenue number that would let outsiders compute its unit economics per ride, or how much of that $126 billion valuation is backed by actual cash flow versus the promise of robotaxi fleets scaling nationwide. Until Alphabet breaks out Waymo on its own, every dollar figure in this space โ ours included โ is an informed estimate, not an audited fact.
Bottom line: Waymo's revenue isn't disclosed, but the best third-party estimate (Sacra) puts its annualized run rate at $355 million as of February 2026, on roughly 500,000 weekly paid rides by August โ up from 100,000 two years earlier. Alphabet's own filings show only the much broader Other Bets segment, which generated $382 million in the most recent quarter and remains a drag on operating income.
